Patient Services
The Patient Services Division offers many programs and services to individuals, families and the community–at–large. Services include clinics, communicable disease prevention programs, assistance to families with children with special health care needs, public health emergency preparedness, childhood lead poisoning testing, services through the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program - and others.
Environmental Health Services
The Environmental Health Services Division is responsible for providing a safe and healthy environment for residents and visitors through education, permitting, inspection and enforcement of regulated activities and programs, such as children’s camps, public water supplies, food service operations, on-site waste disposal systems, tobacco sales to minors, childhood lead poisoning prevention - and others.
Health Education
The Health Education Unit (HEU) collaborates with a broad spectrum of government and community partners to address important public health issues and challenges. HEU promotes prevention and helps empower individuals, families and communities to achieve healthier lives and environments by providing data, tools, best practices and public health messaging via all traditional and new media platforms.
Medical Examiner Division
The Medical Examiner’s Office investigates deaths of persons dying from criminal violence, accident, suicide, sudden death without a physician present, in prison or in any suspicious or unusual manner. The Medical Examiner is responsible for certifying and determining the cause of death.
